Bridge Nocturne

A half-Siren with a bit of a rough past, Bridge Nocturne has a lot to deal with. He tends to keep people at a distance, but if you can manage to get past his walls then he'll always be there to look out for you.

Just don't call him a fish or a mermaid.

Upon first meeting him, Bridge would seem like a normal teenager. At times he can be sarcastic and can have a rather dry sense of humor, and isn't above poking fun at someone. He can be something of a flirt, and is well aware that he holds a certain amount of charm. And while there are moments where he can seem somewhat aloof, generally he appears to be a laidback and easygoing young man. He enjoys writing and creating music, and dreams of making it as a musician.

Underneath the surface, however, Bridge deals with a lot of pain that he is still struggling to work through. When he was just a child, his mother walked out on him and his father, forcing his father to work harder to support the young child. When he was eight years old, his Siren powers manifested for the first time, nearly killing his best friend and forcing the people in town to fear him. He grew up mostly on his own then; his father busy working all the time, his best friend having moved away after the accident, and the townspeople avoiding him as much as possible. When he was fifteen, his father passed away after having a heart attack, and his father's family refused to take him in, due to his Siren lineage from his mother's side. If it hadn't been for the timely arrival of a friend and business associate of his father's, Bridge would have ended up living on the streets.

This is why, despite his often relaxed attitude, he can be distant at times, keeping to himself and keeping others at arms' length. He can be reluctant to get close to others, worried that opening himself up would risk him getting hurt as he had been many times in the past. Even with those he's already close to, he can be insecure and doubtful of himself, worried that he isn't good enough for the people around him. In his lowest moments, he can be blind to his own self-worth, and only able to see the worst parts of himself that so many others had focused on for so long.

Having grown up abandoned and unwanted, he yearns for acceptance, and wants more than anything to just be wanted. And it is this part of him that continues to hold onto the good heart that he has, despite the hardships he grew up with. Those who manage to slip past the walls he has put up will find a deeply caring companion in Bridge. He is willing to go to great lengths for the people he cares for, to look out for them, and keep them safe and happy. He will do whatever he can to help them, and while part of that still scares him - that having people so close will only hurt him once again - the effect they have on his life is immeasurable, inspiring him in new and brighter ways that he never imagined possible.

Siren Song - can hypnotize people through the power of his song

Emotional manipulation - can slightly manipulate a person's emotions based on the music he plays (fast-paced songs generate excitement, slow-paced songs generate sadness, etc.); can only be done with Siren Song

Energy Drain - can drain someone's energy to nourish himself; can only be done to someone influenced by Siren Song

Enhanced Hearing - can detect even the faintest of sounds with sharp clarity over great distances

Transformation - when submerged in water, can change to a Siren form, where he gains a fish-like tail and fins, and all abilities are enhanced; a different form gives him wings, and can be done on land

Water Manipulation - has a limited ability to manipulate water in his immediate area; can only be use in Siren form
